2014 Cadillac ELR teased ahead of Detroit debut
It's electric, and don't call it an Eldorado

We've known that the Cadillac ELR is coming, and now we know when and where: January at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show. Caddy's Voltec-powered coupe (Electorado, anyone?) is probably the car in which the extended-range electric drivetrain should have debuted in the first place, as the price premium for the tech would have been easier to swallow both from a consumer and a PR standpoint.
But that's in the past, and based on the concept car, the ELR looks great and should make for a nice flagship. Until the next-gen Escalade arrives and reasserts its ultimate macho baller status, that is.
More next month from Detroit.
